About Japanese Knife Lab
Japanese Knife Lab is a four-language specialist publication (English, Japanese, French, German) dedicated to Japanese knives. Our Tokyo-based editorial team visits the main blade-making regions in person — Kappabashi, Sakai, Seki, Echizen, Tsubame-Sanjo, and Tosa — and publishes hands-on testing and buying guides built on first-hand reporting.
Our mission is to give knife enthusiasts worldwide access to information that goes deeper than spec sheets and price tags. We publish expert reviews, buying guides, regional maps, and cultural background on the craft.
The site launched in spring 2026. We operate independently of display-advertising networks, sustained by clearly disclosed affiliate programs and editorial partnerships that never affect rankings.
